Our doctors are going to listen to any concerns that you may have in regards to your sexual health and provide you with the most appropriate management plan. We usually offer same day appointments and you do not need a GP referral prior to this appointment.

Maintaining a good sexual health is a very important aspect of your overall health. Many sexually transmitted infections may be asymptomatic which means that you may not experience any symptoms. We recommend testing regularly even if you have no symptoms. Our doctor will recommend the best options for testing according to your needs.

Individual tests
We also offer individual tests as needed. Testing will be a mix of blood tests, urine sample tests and swab tests. For women a thorough internal examination may be needed.

Why should I visit a Sexual Health Clinic?

As well as testing for STIs, we also provide a wide range of services including contraception, menopause advice, pregnancy services, sexual lifestyle advice, and relationship advice.

It’s normal to feel uncomfortable talking about sexual health, but you do not need to feel uncomfortable talking to us. All our clinicians are trained for this and they deal with sexual health issues every day.

What will happen during the appointment?
Your doctor will listen to your concerns, they will take a detailed medical and social history and they may perform a clinical examination.
Testing will be a mix of blood tests, urine sample tests and swab tests. For women a thorough internal examination may be needed.

How quickly can I get tested?
Usually we will be able to offer the same day face to face appointment and all the tests will be sent on the same day. Usually you will receive your results back very quickly for peace of mind. Once we get the results the clinician will get in touch with you and they will be able to provide further advice and recommend a further management plan.
Is the consultation confidential?

Do we need to send a letter to GP?
Not necessary. You can choose to keep your experience with us completely confidential, or we can communicate information back to your NHS GP if you want us to.
